Can you tell us how you got into the miss Arewa Osun thing?

A friend of mine from school told me about it.

Ok, so what happened from there and what is the whole experience like?

I told my parents about it and they told me to go for it because I’ve always loved things that have to do with fashion and pageants.

Camp wasn’t that easy, we had to wake up earlier than we use to for our trainings and the etiquette classes, we had to eat less food and more fruits so as to look good and fit.

I made friends with all the contestants which actually made camp more bearable. On the grand finale I was nervous but I kept on praying and to God be the glory I was given the most outstanding contestant award and crowned as the queen.

how many contenstants in all?
Ten.

Did you feel intimidated at any point?

Yes, that happened when I went for auditioning, but when I complained to my dad he gave me an encouraging word which actually boost my self esteem.

Looking at it critically, what would you say gave you an edge over other contenstants.

I can’t really say, I guess the fact that I went extra mile with God in prayers.

I was just favoured.

How long is your tenure of  office?

A year.

While in office, what are the things you want to use your official capacity to achieve?

I have a project in mind already and that’s to go to secondary schools to enlighten them on sex education because the educational sector in Nigeria takes sex education with levity hands.

You sound very intelligent, how do you personally train yourself?

Thanks for that, I read a lot at my leisure time and my novels has been helping me in my spoken English, then I have this program I listen to on radio that has to do with speaking skills too.

What profession do you intend to go into after your graduation?

Going fully into fashion, most especially having my own clothing line

Its obvious from your tone that despite your beauty and intelligence, you still display the trait of a well brought up girl, how did you achieve this?

Thanks to my parents, they are both disciplinarians and they brought me up in the way of the Lord too.

My dad is a pastor.

How will you rate the organizers of Miss Osun beauty pageant going by all you saw?

Succex multimedia organized the event.

They did well with the planning of the event but I’ve not been given my entitlements though, so I don’t even know how to rate them.

Did you discuss the pending entitlement issue with them?
Yes, i did.

What is their response?

They keep giving me excuses.

Their contact with me is just once in a while.

What are the things you are supposed to get from them and what have you gotten so far?

A brand new car was the grand prize initially but during the course of the training they changed it orally to 100 thousand naira but still I haven’t collected a kobo.

Talking about your aspiration, who are your role models in the fashion industry?

Juliet Ibrahim and Mercy Aigbe.

Tell us something you can never be caught doing?

I can never be caught doing drugs.

Alot of people believe that you have to sleep with organizers of beauty pageant or pay in other ways before you can be crowned, what can you say about this and what is your message for aspiring beauty queens?

No, you don’t have to sleep with the organizers because the bitter truth is it won’t take you anywhere or earn you the crown so my advice to aspiring beauty queens is that they should never compromise to get the crown and they should always believe in themselves and put in their best in what they do. Determination helps a lot and above all place everything before God.

After the expiration of your tenure as the reigning miss Arewa Osun, what next?

Well I will continue my education and at the same time contest for other pageants too.
