OSUN: MAN DIES AFTER ALLEGEDLY DRINKING HERBAL MIXTURE
Tragedy struck in Osogbo, Osun State capital on Sunday when a 27-year old man, identified as Mutiu Adekunle allegedly died after drinking a herbal mixture, TribuneOnline authoritatively gathered.
He was said to have drunk the herbal mixture alongside his colleague, Mr Olayiwola Opeyemi, who is currently receiving treatment at Royal Crown Hospital, Ijetu, Osogbo.
A credible source informed our correspondent that the duo developed complications after drinking the herbal mixture given to them by one Alfa Nureni Suleiman, who has been arrested by the Police.
Though, both Mutiu and Olayiwola were rushed to the hospital after taking the deadly herbal mixture, Mutiu later died after efforts made by the doctors to save his life failed.
Their boss, Mr Sanni Taofeek of Alwajud Street, Osogbo reported the incidence to the Police around 11.15 pm on Sunday, a development which led to the arrest of Alfa Nureni Suleiman.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of Osun State Police Command, Mrs Folasade Odoro confirmed the incident, saying the scene of the crime had been visited by the Police and the remains of the deceased have been deposited in the morgue of Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital (LAUTECH), Osogbo for autopsy.
While explaining that the suspect, Alfa Suleiman was being interrogated by detectives, she added that the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Babatunde Kokumo had ordered a full investigation to the cause of death.
