DRIVER ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY  FORGING EMPLOYER’S CAR DOCUMENTS TO OBTAIN LOAN 

 

A driver, Augustine Vincent, who allegedly forged his employer’s car documents and used it as collateral to obtain a loan, was on Thursday brought before a Wuse Zone 6 Chief Magistrates’ Court in Abuja.

Vincent is facing a two-count charge of breach of trust and forgery.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Omeje said that the complainant sometime in March gave his Toyota Corolla with registration number RSH-51 LS to the defendant for commercial purposes.

He said that it was agreed by both parties that the defendant would be remitting N25,000 to the complainant weekly.

The prosecutor said that the defendant also forged the vehicle’s documents and used it as collateral to obtain a loan of N450,000 from Kiakia Loans in Gwarinpa, Abuja.

He said that the offences contravened Sections 312 and 364 of the Penal Code.

Chief Magistrate Omolola Akindele admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N400,000 with one surety in like sum.

She adjourned the case until July 23, for hearing.
