ONDO: POLICE ARRAIGN LANDLADY FOR KILLING TENANT, DUMPING CORPSE IN WELL
A woman, Cecilia Idowu, has been arraigned before an Ondo State Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting at Akure, the state capital, for allegedly killing her tenant, Stephen Haruna, and burying his corpse in a well, Punch Newspaper reports.
The incident occurred on Oke-Igbala Street, Oge, Okeagbe, Akoko, Akoko North-West Local Government Area of the state.
The 55-year-old woman was arraigned on two counts bordering on conspiracy and murder.
The prosecutor, in an application, urged the court to remand the defendant in the Olokuta Custodial Centre, Akure, pending the issuance of advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.
But the defence counsel, A. Adedire, prayed the court for an adjournment to enable him to file a counter affidavit to the application sought by the prosecutor.
The Chief Magistrate, Musa Al-Yunnus, adjourned the case till October 31, 2022, for ruling on the remand application.
