LAGOS: MAN JAILED FIVE YEARS FOR TRAFFICKING COCAINE

A Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday sentenced to five years imprisonment a man who attempted to traffic 1.5kg of methamphetamine and 300 grammes of cocaine to London from the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, The Nation Newspaper reports.

The convict, Alli Chinedu, pleaded guilty to a two-count charge of unlawful export of the banned substance.

Justice Ayokunle Faji handed out a five-year jail term to him.

NDLEA prosecutor, Mr Abu Ibrahim said Chinedu was arrested by operatives of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on November 13, 2020, at NAHCO Export Shed, a Customs Area/Point of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, during clearance of cargoes on a DHL flight to London.
