ONDO: SUSPECTED RITUALISTS BEHEAD BANK GUARD

A man identified as Rotimi Olukoju has been reportedly killed by some people suspected to be ritualists at Okia Area of Oka -Akoko, the headquarters of Akoko North West Local Government Area of Ondo State, Punch Newspaper reports.

City Round gathered that the deceased was a guard with a microfinance bank in the community and was murdered on his way to his farm on Thursday.

According to a source in the community, Olukoju’s corpse was found on the ground without his head.

The source described the incident as shocking, adding that those behind the act had yet to be known.

The source said, “The ugly incident happened at Iwaro-Oka Akoko road on Thursday where the head of the victim was cut off by unknown persons. It was because the head of the victim was cut off that gave the impression that he must have been killed for ritual purposes.”

The source further said the remains of the deceased had been buried.

Efforts to speak with the state Police Public Relations Officer,  Mr Tee-Leo Ikoro, was unsuccessful as he did not pick calls made to his mobile as of the time of filing this report.
