AN Imam in the Spring Valley Estate, Abuja has been arrested for allegedly sodomising a 12-year-old boy.
Abubakar Danraka, chief pharmacist at the National Hospital Abuja, allegedly drugged the minor before having anal sex with him.
Danraka is Special Assistant (Technical) to the Director-General of the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIPRD).
Dankara was arrested by officials of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
Head, Press & Public Relations Unit of the agency Stella Nezan made this known in a statement.
Nezan stated, “A 42-year-old male resident of Spring Valley Estate of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, Pharmacist Abubarkar Mustapha Danraka has been arrested by operatives of NAPTIP for alleged sodomy.”
The suspect was said to have offered the boy a glass of water to drink, after which he started feeling weak and the suspect overpowered him and had his way.
The boy reportedly said his mother checked his body and saw sperm and bruises around his anal region.
The suspect would be prosecuted after police investigation, it was gathered.
