LAGOS:
WOMAN IMPERSONATES POLICE SUPT TO DEFRAUD CHIEF MAGISTRATE
A 54-year-old woman, Olabisi Olawoye, who allegedly posed as a Police Supt. (SP), on Friday appeared in an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
The defendant was brought before the court on a charge of impersonation.
She, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Kehinde Omisakin, told the court that the defendant committed the offence in the month of August 2018 at Magistrates’ Court 1, Ogba, Lagos.
She said that the defendant had posed as a Police Supt. attached to the Surveillance Section, State CID, Panti, in a bid to defraud Chief Magistrate Yewande Aje.
The offence, Omisakin noted, contravened Section 380(1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
She fixed June 6, for further hearing of the case.
