“I denied myself pleasures and comforts and sacrificed all that I had in ensuring that our children have the best in everything; education topmost on my list.  I went a step further in building the house we presently reside in and made it comfortable for all. But all my husband knows to do is to drink himself to stupour, beat me  mercilessly and destroyed  my property.”

“I’m tired of my husband’s drinking habit. He not only makes life unpleasant for us at home, he has also become a source of ridicule in the neighbourhood.

“He’s not bothered about our children’s welfare and neither is their education his priority. All he cares about is alcohol.

“I single handedly trained our children up to university level because his complaint daily was that of paucity of fund.

“I put aside pleasures and gathered resources together to build a house and furnish it.  But he will drink, get drunk and descend on me with punches and then destroy the furniture in the house.

“He’s also regarded a nuisance in the neighbourhood.  He returns home late and wakes up the neigbourhood  when banging the gate, “she said.

“My lord, I bought him two vehicles for transport service but he handled them carelessly and failed to make any meaningful profit from the business.

“Rather than show appreciation for all I have been doing, he’s now threatening to kill me. I left home recently to avoid making his threat real, “she concluded.

“Rasak, when giving his evidence, said:”I don’t admit to claim.”

“It is true she built the house we are living in while she didn’t lie when she said I drink. My lord, I pray that you don’t separate us because I still love her, “he stated.

Giving his judgment, the court president, Chief Ademola Odunade, dissolved their union.
