CRISIS HITS OSUN SDP
The suspended Chairman of the Social Democratic Party in Osun State, Chief Ademola Ishola, has urged members of the party in the state not to allow Senator Iyiola Omisore and others that recently joined the party to take over the party structures.
Ishola gave the advice in a statement made available to our correspondent in Osogbo on Monday after the ward congresses conducted by officials from the national secretariat of the party.
Ishola described the congresses held on Saturday as contempt of court.
The statement read, “In relation to the party Secretary, Elder Femi Awe, and my suspension from the party, I am not aware of it. I have not received any correspondence from the party till date and I am not aware of the party secretary’s expulsion from the party till date.
“In any event, the party’s national secretary cannot suspend me as I am duly elected as the chairman of our party in the state. There is a procedure for expelling a party chairman or secretary in our constitution and till date the procedure has yet to be followed. The party constitution is supreme and must be adhered to accordingly and strictly.”
But the Secretary of the party, Mr Taiwo Akeju, in his reaction, urged members of the public to discountenance Ishola, saying he and Awe had been suspended for anti-party activities.
