INEC deploys 5 commissioners for Osun-West bye election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has deployed five national commissioners to supervise the Osun-West Senatorial bye election, scheduled to hold on  July 8, 2017.

The Administrative Secretary of the Commission in Osun State, Mr Emmanuel Ademusire dropped this hint at a stakeholders meeting held in Iwo, the headquarters of the district.
Ademusire explained that the electoral umpire would adopt simultaneous accreditation and voting system for the election with the use of newly developed card reader machines.
He, however, cautioned politicians against moves to sabotage eftorts of the commission, vowing that INEC would ensure strict compliance with the provisiom of the law before and during the election.
The Director, Planning and Monitoring at the INEC Headquarters in Abuja, Mr Okechukwu Ndeche enjoined every stakeholders to work with the commission to deliver a generally acceptable election.
Some of the representatives of political parties  at the stakeholders’ meeting commended INEC for being transparent, just as they expressed optimism that the election would be credible.
The commission also used the opportunity to present political parties representatives with documents containing directory of polling units, list of polling centres, collation centres and list of political parties that will participate in the election.
