FASHION DESIGNER JAILED FOR THEFT, ATTEMPTED MURDER
Chief Magistrate, Mr A.A. Fashola convicted Alao after he pleaded guilty to the charges brought against him by the Police.
Chief Magistrate, Fashola said the sentence would serve as a deterrent to others who might want to engage in similar acts.
Alao, resident at 15, Amuje, Abeokuta Expressway, Lagos was arraigned before the court on a four-count-charge of conspiracy, stealing, assault and attempted murder.
Sgt. Unah said the defendant committed the offences with others still at large on April 28 about 8.30 p.m. at Ijaiye Bus Stop, Abeokuta-Lagos Expressway.
He said that the defendant also stole Abubakar’s cell phone valued at N11, 000.
He said Abubakar was repairing his truck which broke down on the Expressway when the defendant suddenly pounced on him and stole his phone.
He said a struggle ensued between them, in the process of which he said the defendant pushed is victim into an on-going vehicle on the highway.
He said the car hit the complainant and broke his left leg.
