A 28-year-old woman identified as Safiya Tukur has been remanded in custody after allegedly using a sharp object to inflict a deep cut on her husband’s private part during a violent domestic fight in Kpakungu area of Minna in Niger State, The Nation Newspaper reports.
The incident occurred about 10 a.m. on 15 October 2026 at their residence in the Darusalam area of Kpakungu.
The domestic clash which was as a result of a misunderstanding between the couple escalated into a physical confrontation, during which Safiya Tukur allegedly attacked her husband with a sharp object, causing a serious injury to his manhood.
The injured man was rushed to General Hospital, Minna, for emergency treatment after a complaint was lodged at Kpakungu Divisional Police Headquarters around 1 p.m. the same day. Officers subsequently arrested Safiya Tukur.
During interrogation, the suspect confessed to wounding her husband in the heat of the fight, according to the Niger State Police Command.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun who confirmed the incident said she had been charged to court and remanded in custody pending the continuation of her trial.
