IMO: NSCDC BUSTS BABY FACTORY ORPHANAGE, RESCUES FIVE PREGNANT WOMEN


Also rescued, were five new born babies who are barely one-two months old and 5 pregnant women whose age bracket runs between 25-33 years old found at the scene.
The officers equally arrested a 47 old Godwin Nnamdi, a cousin to the owner of the orphanage home who happened to be a suspected business partner to the owner of the orphanage.
Parading the suspects at the NSCDC headquarters, Owerri, the Commandant of NSCDC, Basil Igwebueze said that on 14th March, 2026 one of his officers stumbled into an incident of pregnant teenager running away from the baby factory orphanage home at World Bank axis in Owerri West Council Area of Imo State.
With such intelligent information, Commandant Igwebueze said that officers of the command immediately moved into action at the orphanage home and arrested the owner of the orphanage and rescued both the 4 pregnant teenage girls including the 5 new born babies.
The Commandant who described it as a heinous crime condoned in the society, he appealed to the residents of Imo State and neighbours not to say something when they see something.
He said: ” if the residents of the state had not assisted us with the necessary information, the command would not have uncovered such a criminal act.”
He condemned the act of bribe by Godwin Nnamdi to bribe the officers of the Command to cover the crime
NSCDC boss advised the people of Imo State to arise to the situation by urgently reporting to the security agencies about crimes in the state for prompt action.
In an interview with the owner of the ophanage home, Mrs. Tochi Ogaranya, she said that her ophanage home is a certified one and that she has a certificate backing her.
She recalled how the 33 year old teenager Chiamaka came into the orphanage with pregnancy after she ran away from the man who impregnated her at Ngwa in Abia State.
She said that when the incident of somebody impregnating Chiamaka was disclosed to her, she made effort to reach out to the Police who even promised to travel with the lady to Abia State to arrest the man who impregnated Chiamaka.
She said she was surprised when her workers called to inform her that Chiamaka has jumped out of the fence and ran away before she was caught by the vigilante in the area.
When interviewed, one of the suspects, a 33-year-old Chiamaka, from Ikeduru Council Area of Imo State said that she was introduced to the orphanage by someone he does not know his identity for the purpose of delivering her baby and saying him/her.
She said that when she felt that she can no longer cope with the situation, she ran away through the fence for her dear life.
