MAN TO COURT: MY WIFE HAS BEEN DENYING ME SEX FOR TWO YEARS, LEAVES THE HOUSE WITHOUT MY CONSENT

In a report by Nigerian Tribune, Grade A Customary Court, sitting at Mapo, Ibadan, Oyo State, has adjourned a divorce suit brought before it by a man, Musa, who accused his wife, Adesola, of denying him sex, and is in the habit of going out without his consent.
He added that she was fond of fighting him and their neighbours, which had resulted in her being detained at the police station on many occasions.
Musa stated that he could no longer tolerate Adesola’s atrocities, which was why he came to court.
The plaintiff requested an order restricting the defendant from harassing and threatening him, and also from interfering with his private life.
Adesola was absent in court on the day the case was mentioned and also when it was heard despite being served court summonses.
Musa, in his evidence, said: “My wife and I have been living together for the past eight years, although I did not pay her bride price.”
“The pleasure I derived from our relationship has ceased since she started denying me sex two years ago.”
“She now goes out at will and never leaves a clue about her whereabouts.”
“I felt apprehensive anytime she was away from home and did return at the time expected.”
“She never saw anything wrong in her behaviour at the times I called her attention to it.”
“Adesola is also troublesome and is never tired of fighting me.”
“She made our home too hot for comfort.”
“My wife extended her unfriendly nature towards our neighbours and was always at loggerheads with them.”
“She has become a common face at the police station where she was detained almost every time she fought with our neighbours.”
“I feel embarrassed going to the police station every now and then to seek her release.”
“My lord, I gain nothing but stress having Adesola under my roof.”
“I pray the court to rule that we are no longer husband and wife.”
“I also request an order restricting her from threatening and interfering with my private life.”
The court president, Mrs S.M Akintayo, after she heard the plaintiff adjourned the case until February 24.
