The 20-year old undergraduate of the Bauchi State University, Patience Kushi, who was reportedly kidnapped, has been found.
Kushi, who got missing since June 24th, however, said she ran away from her uncle’s house because he had allegedly raped her.
The PUNCH had reported that cultists kidnapped Patience Emmanuel and told her parents that what they wanted was her virginity.
But speaking with journalists on Thursday, the 100-level Pharmacology student said her uncle had sexually abused her and had attempted to do it the second time.
“When he came the second time, I warned him to leave me alone else; it’s either he kills me or I kill him; so he left me alone,” she said.
She recalled that she was raped about two weeks before the second attempt.
She said, “That day, he came to my room around 11am and locked the door and raped me. I shouted but nobody heard me.”
The undergraduate said on the day of the second attempt (Wednesday), she told her aunt that she was going to her father’s house in Kafin Tafawa and boarded a tricycle, adding that she became unconscious and found herself in Kari, in the Darazo Local Government Area.
She said a man gave her N2,000 for transport, adding that when she got to Bauchi on Sunday, June 28, and remembered what her uncle had done to her, she turned back and went to Jos.
She said she spent the night with a woman who she lied to that she was stranded, adding that when she was asleep, the woman picked her mobile phone and dialed some numbers that had been calling her.
“She eventually spoke to my parents. It was when my parents came to the woman’s house in Jos the next day with my uncle that I told them that I ran away because my uncle had been molesting me sexually.”
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakili, said investigation into the incident was ongoing.
