The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested the village head of Ikot Inyang in the Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government, one Eteidung Stephen Uyoe, for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl.
The command, in a statement by its Public Relations Officer, Nnudam Fredrick, on Tuesday, said the village head was arrested on Saturday.
According to the statement, the village head bought beans cake from the victims and asked her to follow him to his house to collect money, where he allegedly defiled her.
“Investigation revealed that the suspect bought beans cake (akara) from the victim and asked her to follow him to his room in order to give her money.”
“On reaching the room, the suspect grabbed the victim and forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.”
The command spokesman said a pastor, one Victor David, was also arrested for defiling an eight-year-old girl.
He said the girl was raped by the pastor when she was sent to deliver a tin of milk by her guardian to the pastor.
