Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court on Tuesday remanded a clergy, Seyi Adelana in the custody of Nigeria Correctional Services (NCS) facility for allegedly sodomizing two teenage boys, aged 18 and 17 (names withheld).
Justice Abiola Soladoye ordered the remand of the prophet after he was arraigned on two-count charge brought against him by the State Government.
The prosecutor, Mrs Arinola Momoh-Ayokanbi, told court that the defendant committed the offences sometime in June 2018 to January 2019 in his residence at No. 11, Itumaro Street, Igbogbo, Ikorodu.
She alleged that the defendant lured the boys with cash gifts before sexually assaulting them by having anal sex with them.
According prosecutor: “The defendant sexually assaulted the first complainant, an 18-year-old makeup artist, from June to November 2018. And the second complainant, a 17-year-old trader from November 2018 to January 2019.”
Mrs Momoh-Ayokanbi told the court that it was the second complainant that told his mother what happened as a result of which the defendant was arrested.
The defendant pleaded not guilty.
Following his not guilty plea, Justice Soladoye ordered that the defendant be remanded at a correctional center.
She adjourned the matter until April 22 for trial.
