PRIMARY 5 PUPIL KIDNAPS MASTER’S 10-YR-OLD SON FOR N150,000 RANSOM

Nemesis has caught up with a primary five pupil in Minna, Niger State (name withheld) and his accomplice, Sale, for allegedly kidnapping a 10-year-old boy.

The prime suspect, said to be working for one Hadi as a security guard, ended up kidnapping his master’s son and contracted his friend and accomplice, Sale, to sell the boy. It was gathered that while the duo were negotiating the sale of the 10-year-old boy for N150,000, the Police nabbed them.

According to the state Police Command spokesman, Muhammad Abubakar, “the suspects kidnapped the 10 years old son of his employer, took him to an unknown place and later demanded a ransom of N150,000. After kidnapping the boy, the duo were said to have made a phone call to his parents, saying their son was in their custody and that they should make available N150,000 for the boy to be released.”

It was gathered that the Police then used the same phone number used by the kidnappers to ask them to come for the ransom at the location the suspects had suggested.

According to a source, it was at this point that the two suspects were apprehended and the 10 years old boy was rescued.

The principal suspect, in a brief chat with journalists, said he kidnapped the boy as punishment to his parents who had accused him of theft in their house.

His words: “Before I started working with his father, I have never stolen any body’s property and for them to have labeled me a thief really pained me.”

“This was why I resorted to kidnapping their son to express my anger and punish them. While I took the step, I never thought of the implication because I did it out of anger, frustration and retaliation.”

He confessed that he recruited Sale to find a buyer for the boy before nemesis eventually caught up with them.

Sale, in his submission also admitted that he called, demanding the N150,000 ransom but did not know that his friend kidnapped his employer’s son.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Abubakar, who paraded the suspects before journalists, said they will be charged to court immediately investigations are concluded.
